Thanks Rick!

Rick gave an awesome no-gi seminar at the University of Pittsburgh then another one using a gi at Team Balance Pittsburgh the next day. We also promoted 4 people after the second seminar.

At the no-gi seminar, Rick went over head locks and leg locks. Even though he showed a ton of stuff, Rick was articulate and detail oriented. Several told me that he gave one of the best seminars which they have attended. Even though it was late, Rick rolled with everyone and anyone who stayed afterward.

The next day he gave a great gi seminar at Team Balance Pittsburgh. It was just as jam packed with knowledge. I thought this seminar was actually a little easier to understand. Rick showed a lot of half guard techniques which aren't covered at many other places.

After the seminar we evaluated Eugene Kim for purple belt along with Pat Daley, Boris Mezhinsky, and Keelan Enski for blue belt. They were put through the wringer - especially Eugene. He is a co-owner of Kim's Martial Arts. Even though he is a 5th degree black belt in judo and widely respected, Eugene still trained in jiu-jitsu with us too and wanted to try for that promotion. Everyone showed lots of determination and toughness.

They all did great and I'm proud of them all. Thanks Rick for the great seminars, and congrats to Pat, Boris, Keelan, and Eugene!!!
